Carl Palmer at the Beachmont School
Carl Palmer visited the percussion students at the Beachmont School on
May 30, 2006.
Mr. Palmer continues to make the Top Five lists of influential drummers
in rock music. Palmer’s visit to the school will include listening
and watching the Ensemble play and a conversation about the art of percussion
and how the music industry works these days.
Mr. Palmer informed the students who aspire to the professional career
in music, “That,
at the end of the day, try going about the path of originality.”
Mr. Palmer joined the Beachmont Ensemble on stage in a performance directed
by Tom Maffucci.
Mr. Maffucci states that “Carl Palmer has influenced musicians
all over the world, sharing with them his brilliance as an innovator of
drum and percussion technique. I am proud to pass on this music to the
students of the Beachmont School Percussion Ensemble for it will be something
they will keep with them and share with others as they grow up. The opportunity
for them to meet the man who is responsible for creating this musical
magic will be a day they will always remember.”
Mr. Maffucci connects his students with the music industry, including
educational endorsements from Paiste Cymbals and Vic Firth Sticks.
