African Drummer with Ed Shute
On Friday
April 28th, the students at the Abraham Lincoln School got a taste of
Sabar. Sabar is a vibrant drumming and dance tradition from Senegal, Africa.
Master Drummer Lamine Toure, a resident artist at MIT and the group Rambax
based at MIT performed for students and lead them in song and dance. Within
minutes students were moving across the gym floor. The moves and music
were infectious. No student was able resist. Bringing the program to the
school was a joint effort. The Revere Cultural Council and the Abraham
Lincoln School PTA helped the school make the wonderful program possible.
