Ms. Marijane Black has been an educator for over twenty-five years. She has worked in the Revere Public Schools as a Special Education Teacher. Currently she works at the Rumney Marsh Academy as a Special Needs Inclusion Teacher. She has a B.S. in Elementary, Middle School, and Special Education, M.Ed. in Educational Technology, and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Educational Leadership.

DEBRA BUCKLEY

Debra Buckley has been teaching special education in Revere for the past thirty years beginning in 1979. She has taught elementary resource room, middle school self-contained classrooms and inclusion and resource room for the past twenty-two years at Revere High School. This is her third year at the Rumney Marsh Academy and is currently teaching sixth grade inclusion. She has a B. S. from Bridgewater State College in Special Education and Elementary Education, a Masters in Education from Salem State in Secondary Education Guidance and a second masters from Cambridge College in Education. She has been extremely active in the school community with involvement in the Special Olympics, drop out prevention, clustering, class advisor, yearbook advisor for ten years and was the assistant golf coach at Revere High School.

This is Eric Castriano’s first year at RMA working as a PDD Teacher. He worked for two years as an instructional assistant in the Westwood Public Schools. He graduated from Curry College in 2004 with a Bachelors degree in Integrated Liberal Studies and Elementary Education. He is currently attending the University of Massachusetts seeking his masters in Special Education.

DIANE CZYZEWSKI

Diane Czyzewski has taught in Revere since 2000. Before coming to Revere, Mrs. Czyzewski taught math/science for fifteen years in a private school in Somerville. She has a B.S. in Education from Framingham State College and has a C.A.G.S. in Middle School Math. Program through Lesley University. Currently, she teaches math to both sixth, seventh, and eighth grade classes.

Mr. Deleidi is the math coach at both Rumney Marsh Academy and Seacoast High School. He has been teaching since 1998 and has been in Revere since 2005. He is a National Board Certified Teacher with a M. Ed. from Salem State College and a C.A.G.S. from Lesley University. He runs the RMA Math League after school on Wednesdays from January to June.

Mrs. Linda Doherty has been an educator for over twenty-five years. She is a life-long resident of Revere. Prior to working in Revere, she worked at CAPIC Head Start as a Lead Teacher and Special Needs Coordinator. She has worked in the Revere Public Schools as a Special Education Teacher and an Instructional Technology Specialist. Currently she works at the Rumney Marsh Academy as a Special Needs Inclusion Teacher. She has a BS in Elementary, Middle and Special Education, M.Ed. in Educational Technology and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Educational Leadership.

Dr. CINDY EVANS
PRINCIPAL

I have been with the Revere School System for 29 years, having taught all grade levels and virtually all subjects. My favorite students to work with are Middle School students. I was an Assistant Principal at the Beachmont School for three years and this is my second year as Principal. I have a B.S. in Education from Boston University, a M.Ed. in Education from Cambridge College, and a CAGS in Educational Leadership from Salem State College. I am currently working on my doctorate in Educational Leadership at UMass-Lowell. My dissertation and research work centers on circadian rhythms and achievement. I love to talk about that topic - ask me sometime!

Ms. Fellows is excited about different world art styles, she is originally from Massachusetts but has lived in a variety of different places where she was lucky enough to study art, including: Florence and Rome, Italy, Oberlin, Ohio, Paris, France, Philadelphia, PA, New York City, New York, Putney, Vermont, and now Boston. She received her undergraduate degree in studio art from Oberlin College and her Master of Fine Arts degree in studio teaching from Boston University.

Ms. Gennari is currently in her seventh year of teaching at the Rumney Marsh Academy. She is looking forward to taking 6th graders around the world in Geography and taking her 7th graders back to the past in Ancient Civ.. She enjoys hands-on projects and has high expectations for all of her students. She graduated from Providence College with a degree in Secondary Education/Social Studies and decided to go back to Providence College and receive her Masters degree in European History.

STACY GIACOBBE

Ms. Giacobbe is in her third year in the Revere Public School system and her second year at Rumney Marsh Academy. She graduated from Tufts University with a Bachelor’s degree in Child Development and from Emerson College with a Master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. Ms. Giacobbe is currently the speech-language pathologist for students in grades six, seven and eight at the RMA.

Lauren Gogolen has been at RMA since 2005. Before coming to Revere, she taught English as a Foreign Language in Barcelona, Spain. Jane Murphy has been with the Revere School System for 32 years. She began as a Kindergarten teacher at the Louis Pasteur School and from there, moved into the Beachmont School when it opened in 1980. She has also taught Third Grade, Title One Math, and First Grade at the Beachmont. She holds a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education from Salem State and recently completed certification for Library/Media Specialist, also through Salem State. She is currently working as the librarian in the Beachmont School/RMA Library.

BARABRA PALMIERI

Ms. Barbara Palmieri has been a teacher in the Revere Public Schools since 2003 when she began as an English and Social Studies teacher in the Special Education small learning cluster. Ms. Palmieri taught in the Reading Public Schools and the Sudbury Public Schools before coming to Revere. Ms. Palmieri holds a B.A. in English from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst and Massachusetts Professional-level Teaching Certifications in English, Social Studies, and Special Education, Grades 5-12. In addition, Ms. Palmieri has done graduate work at Salem and Framingham State Colleges and has worked for the Department of Education during the summers scoring the long compositions for the Grade 7 MCAS and the Grade 10 MCAS as well as MCAS Alternate Assessment Portfolios. In her spare time, Ms. Palmieri enjoys being with her children, playing tennis and bridge, and arranging flowers.

Prior to teaching, Mrs. Rubino worked as a journalist for the Boston Herald and the Portsmouth Herald. She continues to freelance for the Boston Herald. She has a Master's in Middle School Education from the University of Massachusetts Boston and will soon be starting coursework for her Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Educational Leadership. Mrs. Kymberly Ryan has taught in the Revere Public School system since 2004; prior to that she taught in systems on the North Shore. She is certified in both Elementary Education 1-6 and Moderate Disabilities 5-12. She has a B.A. in English from Gordon College and a M.Ed. in Elementary Education from Lesley University. She has earned an additional 15 credits beyond her M.Ed. and is working toward a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Special Education from American International College. This year, Mrs. Ryan is piloting the Spire reading program at Rumney Marsh Academy.

Ms. Scalese has been a teacher in the Revere Public Schools since 2006. She has a B.S. in Psychology from Salem State College and is graduating this year from Salem State College with a Masters degree in Special Education. Before coming to Revere, she spent four years as a Juvenile Justice Programs Manager for the Essex County District Attorney’s Office where she developed and facilitated educational programs for youth within schools and community agencies. This year, Ms. Scalese is teaching Science for the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade special education students.

Mrs. Thompson is a licensed, certified Massachusetts School Counselor. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology, a Master of Education degree in School Counseling and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in School Leadership. Mrs. Thompson taught biology at Revere High School before becoming a guidance counselor. Her office is located on the second floor of the Rumney Marsh Academy next to the library.
