Hill “Kids for Kids” Raises $1822 for Children’s Hospital

During 2015-2016 Hill professional development, a group of teachers, Ms. Franzese, Ms. Felzani, and Ms. Whalen formed a committee called “Kids for Kids”. The focus of this group was to raise money for Boston Children’s Hospital. The driving force behind this venture was to teach students about the importance of giving back and supporting those in need. Through the years, McKinley/Hill students have received wonderful treatment at Boston Children’s Hospital. Pictured below is third grader, Stephanie Reyes, who was a patient @ Children’s and is doing very well and 5th grader, Gerry Cookson, younger brother of Ricky Cookson, a former McKinley student, who also was a patient @ Children’s and is doing very well. This project was a great way for students to support their peers outside of the classroom. Throughout the 2015-2016 school year, the committee planned and conducted various fundraisers to support Children’s Hospital. Polar Express movie night which was attended by over 400 community members was a smashing success. In all the events, students, parents, and staff alike worked collectively to raise $1,822 in total. It was a heartwarming experience for all the Hill community members involved. Thanks go to the committee for their hard work and all the Hill community members for supporting this great cause.
