Meet the Teacher Night

Please join us for Meet the Teacher Night on Thursday, September 7, 2017.

This is a night for you to meet your child’s teacher(s), to hear about what they will be learning in school this year, and for you to learn how you can help your child at home.

We will be hosting two sessions, so that families with children in different grades can get information from their teachers. Both sessions will include the same information and presentations.

  • Session One for Early Childhood - Grade 5 is from 3:30-4:15 p.m.
  • Session Two for Early Childhood - Grade 5 is from 4:45-5:30 p.m
  • There will be a presentation by the principal at 4:15 pm, in between the two sessions.

The first day of school for students in grades 1-5 will be on Monday, August 28.

The first day of school for students in Kindergarten and Early Childhood classes will be on Tuesday, September 5.

Teacher Appreciation Week is May 8-12, 2017. We can’t wait to #ThankATeacher with you!

This year’s theme is “Teachers Deliver.” And they do! Teachers deliver so much to our students—inspiration, motivation and, ultimately, their futures. From May 8-12, 2017, we would like to celebrate teachers and deliver our thanks and gratitude to them.

Teachers change the lives of millions of children every day, and their work and impact extends far beyond the boundaries of the classroom. Join us during PTA Teacher Appreciation Week to #ThankATeacher for all that they deliver to our nation’s children.

MCAS Testing begins on April 3 and continues through May 26 for Grades 3-5

MCAS testing will begin on Monday, April 3, and continue through Friday, May 26, with students in Grades 3-5 assigned to test different days of the week.

Principal Coutts will be calling homes to remind students and their families about which days the students will be taking the MCAS English Language Arts tests, the MCAS Mathematics tests, and for students in Grade 5 the MCAS Science Engineering and Technology tests.

Please use the link below to see our MCAS testing schedule. You can also use the 'MCAS 2.0 Next Generation testing Calendar & Info' tab at the top of our site to see the schedule and resources for MCAS.

2017 MCAS next generation testing calendar for parents updated Jan 20 2017

  • It is important that students to arrive to school on time and that they are not released early on their assigned testing days.
  • Be sure that students go to bed early and get a restful sleep on the nights before they are assigned to test.
  • It is important that students eat a healthy breakfast every day, and especially on testing days, to fuel their brain and to have the energy to remain focused.
  • Students should feel confident that they will do well, as always the should work hard and do their best, and they should answer all of the questions on the test each day.
A Letter to Students and Families School logo

"Dear Students and Families,

We write today to reassure you that regardless of how you came to be a member of the Revere Public Schools community, we are here to support you. Over the years, we have celebrated diversity and embraced the richness that it brings to the classroom and to our own lives. One of the ways we have measured our schools’ success has been by assessing how safe, welcomed, and included ALL of our students and families feel. This will not change."
